I woke where the Highlands roll,
Morning light on a wandering soul.
Purple heather, endless sky,
Cold sea wind drifting by.
Every road felt meant to be,
Like the Spirit of Spey was calling me.

Golden hills and coastal rain,
One look and you’re never the same.

Speyside nights, Highland skies,
Hold me close till morning light.
Let the river carry you,
To the Spirit of Spey.

Oh-oh-oh, don’t let go,
Hear that Highland river flow.
Some spirits never die —
They just flow on through time.

Old rail tracks through fields of green,
Ghosts of all they’ve heard and seen.
River shining in the sun,
Silver salmon always run.
Dufftown glowing late at night,
Golden whisky, firelight.

Some old maker dreamed this flame,
Long before we knew his name.
Now his spirit still remains,
Flowing softly through the grain.

Friendly faces, open doors,
Makes you wanna stay once more.
